Getting to Cimaja
Choose your transport
The nearest major airport is Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta (two hours from Singapore or Bali, four hours from Perth) and we can provide car transport from the airport or elsewhere in Jakarta to CBC. Arriving in Jakarta is sometimes frustrating and unpredictable but if you know the city then it can be fun to have a few days there. If you’d prefer to avoid the madness then we can pick you up and bring you straight down! Please check the bookings page for rates and book your transport with one of our experienced local drivers.
If you are making your own way to Cimaja we recommend you travel early morning, middle of the day or at night to avoid the worst of the Jakarta traffic. Google maps provides the best route and with sections of the new toll road complete, it normally takes less than four hours by car if you drive at a sensible time.
A train is available twice a day to Cibadak which takes around three hours from Jakarta (with a change in Bogor). Then it’s another two or three hours to Cimaja by bus or car. Buses are also available from Bogor to Pelabuhan Ratu and will normally take three to four hours but sadly we don’t recommend taking public transport unless you’re on a really tight budget. It’s often unpredictable and the drivers are aggressive and dangerous.
When you are arriving in Cimaja, take a left turn onto the beach track just after Desa Resort (before Cimaja Square) and park or get dropped off at the surf spot. Parking costs Rp10,000 a day and motorbikes are Rp5,000 to enter. We do not own the parking area and it is maintained by a gatekeeper so if you’re parking overnight we recommend leaving your car next to his hut and not directly on the beach.
